Shoestringin' my way

It was twelve o' clock and Cinderella had to leave. The clock was striking, the carriage was waiting and Mr. Right was just a few few "footsteps" behind. Miss goody-two-shoes Cinderella had no choice. Before the carriage turned into pumpkins and the stallions into mice - she had raced her way away from the palace. Alas, she left her glass slipper!!

When Carrie (Sex & The City) realised she had no savings, she traced back to where she had spent all her money. The answer was glaring at her. She was standing in front of two big cupboards with the loveliest shoes I have ever seen. That is what Carrie did. When she wanted to take her mind off something, she bought flip-flops. When she wanted to put her mind to something, she bought dress shoes. When she wanted to watch the new recital, she bought ballet flats. When she wanted to go dancing, she bought strappy sandals. And when she was simply out of her mind, she bought really expensive boots. It's amazing how many shoe brands Sarah Jessica Parker could have been ambassador too. Alas, we could only drool for the half/hour that the show lasted.

So, today, I watched In Her Shoes. & if you bother looking online for reviews to this movie, you'll find a hundred and one. Though the number would fall a little short of the shoes that appear in the course of the film. When Cameron Diaz opens the cupboard to her sister's shoes, you want to dive right into the screen & take those home. They're beautiful, they're coloured, they're different, they're classy, they're divine, they're SHOES.

From Cinderella's fairy tale to the sitcom, from reel life to real life, we're waiting for the other shoe to drop. Here's my own little theory: Clothes we outgrow of, make-up will die, but if you care for your shoes the right way, they'll be yours forever. :)

After all, Cinderella did find her man only on stepping into the right shoe. & Carrie won the way to her men's hearts with her Jimmy Choos. & Maggie got to keep the Manolos. When you put yourself in someone else's shoes, the world is a different place, dolls. Don't we all leave footprints in the sand and sand in our shoes? ;)
